Incorrect maintenance of our lamps can cause corrosion of the magnet located inside the ignition switch. The small yet powerful magnet enables the illuminator to be switched on and off and should always be kept clean. Always rinse your lamp thoroughly under a stream of fresh water, paying particular attention to the switch.
If your switch is oxidized it will need to be replaced.
Follow the pictures to clean/replace your switch.
1- Use a small screwdriver to remove the switch and a brush to clean the housing.
2- Insert the tip of the screwdriver under the sliding part and lift gently.
3- Remove the switch (note the presence of oxide).
4- Thoroughly clean the oxide residue with the brush and a cloth: if possible, lubricate with silicone grease.
5- Position the new switch, using the screwdriver to press down the sealing tabs.
